Wind and water
Ong Hock comes to settle in the new colony of Singapore, along with the blighted fengshui that has settled on his forebears. With six daughters but no male heir, Ong Hock and his wife adopt the son of a runaway bondmaid. The Ongs survive the British colonization and the Japanese occupation through great endurance and hardship. The Ongs lives are shaped by fengshui and destinies.
