Synopsis
Spending a restful evening in a camper van parked in an idyllic woodland beauty spot makes for a very quiet night--especially if you are enjoying the sleep of the dead.
The hose attached to the cylinder beside Adrian Stoll's camper van ran in through the roof vent, carrying the gas that killed him. He may have died peacefully in his sleep, but he was murdered nonetheless and Gently had no shortage of suspects.
Stoll's tangled love life threw up several candidates including a lover, a mistress and an estranged son, while family jealousies, business rivalries and financial improprieties provided several more. Gently's job was to sift through the evidence and close in on the killer before he, or she, or they, vanished as completely as the invisible gas that suffocated Adrian Stoll.
